“We have nothing to fear”: Developers signal confidence

“In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, we have nothing to fear.”

That was the message from Amira Sajwani, Managing Director of DAMAC Properties, as developers across Dubai pointed to continued construction activity and strong market fundamentals despite ongoing regional uncertainty.

Sajwani’s comments come as DAMAC recorded 3,663 units sold in the first quarter of 2026, ranking first in Dubai by market share of sales transactions.

She said the UAE’s track record continues to underpin confidence.

“History has taught us that the UAE always overcomes challenges and emerges stronger… With the guidance of our leadership, this time will be no different. We witnessed this during the global financial crisis in 2008, during COVID-19, and again following the April 2024 storm widely known as the ‘Hadeer Storm.’ With the guidance of our leadership, this time will be no different. The UAE will continue to move forward with resilience and confidence,” said Amira.

Market activity remains strong

The broader market continues to post significant growth. According to Dubai REST, real estate sales reached AED246.12 billion in Q1 2026, up from AED142.7 billion in the same period last year, marking a 72.46 percent increase.

This builds on a strong 2025, when Dubai recorded more than $250 billion in real estate transactions, reinforcing the sector’s role as a key pillar of the economy.

Despite heightened regional attention, activity across the city remains steady, with buyer enquiries, property viewings and transactions continuing.

“These figures clearly demonstrate that despite political tensions across the region, the fundamentals of Dubai’s real estate market remain exceptionally strong,” Amira said. “Demand continues to grow, and investor confidence in Dubai remains robust, reinforcing the emirate’s position as one of the world’s most attractive investment destinations,” she added.

Developers across segments are reporting continued progress on projects, signalling operational stability.

Alta Real Estate Development confirmed that construction remains active across its portfolio, pointing to sustained confidence in Dubai’s long-term growth trajectory.

Giuseppe Noto, Chief Executive Officer of Alta Real Estate Development, said the city continues to attract global interest.

“Dubai has firmly established itself as a global hub for business and investment… that confidence is reflected not only in sustained market demand, but also in the pace at which development across the city continues to move forward.”

Mohammad Al Tayer, Deputy Managing Director at Alta, added: “Dubai has always been built with long-term vision… that resilience is reflected in the continued momentum we see across the real estate market and in our commitment to keep building for the future.”

From construction to delivery

At the project level, developers are moving from construction milestones into delivery phases.

R.Evolution confirmed that its Eywa Tree of Life development has reached structural completion, with the superstructure finalised and show residences now ready.

The project has reached 51 percent completion, according to Dubai Land Department records, with façade installation and interior works progressing across multiple levels.

Alex Zagrebelny, Founder and CEO of R.Evolution, said the milestone reflects a broader shift in market expectations. “This is where ideas stop being theoretical and start to take physical form… in a market that places growing importance on delivery and credibility.”

Construction partner Ancient Builders Constructions said finishing works are now underway, with multiple workstreams progressing simultaneously.

“This is the stage where construction quality becomes visible… our focus is on maintaining strong attention to detail as we move into finishing works,” said Zeeshan Ali Akhtar, Managing Director of Ancient Builders Constructions.

A market built on long-term fundamentals

The continued activity across developers reflects broader structural drivers supporting the market, including population growth, infrastructure investment and long-term planning under the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040.

Developers say these fundamentals continue to anchor investor confidence even as short-term uncertainty shapes sentiment.

Sajwani said the UAE’s stability remains central to its global positioning. “The UAE’s leadership, economic vision, and global reputation for stability will continue to attract international investors and sustain long-term growth,” she added.
